LOVE ANDY WARHOL: RARE POLAROIDS AND 26TH ANNIVERSARY DEATH

Elizabeth Taylor and David Hockney

It's quite fitting that on the week of Andy Warhol's 26th anniversary of his death, I attended an exhibition of rare Warhol Polaroids at Privatus Gallery in Mayfair. Taken from a private collection of never publicly seen photos, many of the pictures have been donated by art collector James Hedges. The exhibition features a mixture of still-life shots, travel photography and photobooth strips, in addition to iconic candid images of Mick Jagger, Elizabeth Taylor, David Hockney and Boy George. It's a very intimate collection in a generous space. Andy Warhol Photography opened at Privatus on 11 February and runs until March 1. To view this exhibition you have to book an appointment prior to your visit.
